Tim and I spent all morning yesterday getting Jenna and ourselves ready for church. We actually got there earlier than usual. As we were walking up to the building, Jenna throws up not once, but twice. It was everywhere. I always have a change of clothes for her so we changed her, wiped her down with baby wipes, and got right back in the car to drive home. For those of you who do not know, we do not live close to the church by any means. I drove us back home and Tim was in the back with her in case she threw up again. Luckily, she only threw up those two times. We spent the rest of the day taking care of her and watching her like a hawk. She did not eat much even though she asked for food as soon as we gave her something she did not want it. It was probably for the best. She got A LOT of liquids though. She passed out about an hour early last night on the love seat. She is better today.
And now for the funny...or maybe I should call it a scary...
Jenna has been getting in her two-year molars (a little late, we know) and it seems whenever the mood strikes her she says, "My teeth hurt! My teeth hurt!" It got to where I felt like I was doling out Tylenol all the time. I tried to trick her the other day by giving her Smartie candies instead. She ate them and then said, "My teeth hurt! My teeth hurt! I need 'Tyl-lol'." Huh?!?! Another "Life Lesson" learned...Now how is it that Tim can give her Sweet Tarts as "medicine" and get away with it?? Anyone have any thoughts about what we can do about this problem? We do give her Tylenol but sometimes it is two hours later and she claims she needs more. We DO want her to make it to her third birthday in February without being a little druggie...

I hope she continues to feel better!
Rowan asks for medicine when he doesn't need it or it isn't time yet too. I just explain to him that we can only take medicine when we're sick, or if he actually is sick, I just tell him it isn't time for the next dose yet. I like the candy idea, but I don't really want to trick him into thinking it's OK to take medicine very often. It's good that Jenna knows the difference. I think it's a good idea to begin to teach them that there are limitations on when and how often we can take medication. Maybe you could also buy a new special candy besides sweet tarts that Jenna only gets in between doses when she's sick and tell her that she can't have Tylenol yet, but if she'd like she can have a piece of this candy. That might avert a tantrum.
