I have decided to put a new "tag" or "label" on this post: "Life Lessons." In other words, things my preschooler has taught me. I learned a lesson loud and clear last night. Let me set the stage: I made lasagna for dinner and I started a little later than I should have but I really wanted it. Jenna and Tim were out in the yard working on the flower beds so I thought it would not be a big deal if dinner was, say 30 minutes late. Those 30 minutes turned into an hour and Tim and Jenna's yard work session ended because he was called in to work. So, I was left with Jenna watching "Shrek" (
the new obsession) on DVD and dinner was running late. I had to remove her from the dinner table twice and then we decided to color some pictures of Shrek while waiting for dinner and watching the movie. I went in the kitchen to put in the garlic bread and when I can back the green crayon was no more. That's right, Jenna ate it. She was gagging and spitting it out and clearly did not like the way the crayon tasted. (She has not done this since she was little, itty bitty and just began using crayons.) She began to spit it out (a trick Daddy taught her and one she chose to practice at Disney World a few weeks back while standing above people!) The sad thing is she was so hungry and she ate what she could find. I felt like the worst mother ever...We did not wait for Tim to get home to eat - how could I make her? I think she really did it to be funny and she liked smiling at me with
green "ogre" teeth like Shrek, but still. It's one of those funny/sad things that happen so often when you have a kid.
On to happier things... These were taken yesterday down by the water front:
Notice the matching lavender nail polish? She was so proud!

Tim calls this one, "And I built this fountain."

By the way, Jenna is still asking for a "
Ho Ho tree."
Have a great Saturday!
