Ice Cream, Party and "Ghost Stores"

Ice Cream and Swimming Pools: The Cure- All to Ant Bites!

Back on the 10th, Jenna got bit on the foot by some red ants in our backyard. Not the first time and certainly not the last, but she did say something new. She got up the next day, Tuesday the 11th, and told me she needed to eat ice cream before school because it would help her ant bite on her foot. She said, "Ouce cream for breakfast helps foot ant bite."

And it didn't stop there.

She then told me, "Nana's pool helps ant bites too."

O.K. She did get to go to the pool with her Nana and Beth, but for only thirty minutes. Then it "rain rained and we got all wet." That was the day I got to shoppy shoppy all by myself! We all (my mom, Jenna, Beth and myself) went to the pool the next day. That was the day of the snake...

On Saturday evening we went to Grant's first birthday party. We had a good time. Jenna was unusually shy at first. It may have been because she fell asleep on the way there and it sometimes takes her a while to wake up. It was mostly Grant's family so Jenna did not know or remember some of them, but once she woke up good she was her usual self, putting on a show. Here she is dancing around with a balloon, which incidentally made me have to run to the dollar store to get her a mylar Halloween balloon yesterday.
And here she is playing with my sister, her Aunt Amy at the party.
Jenna's favorite parts of the night were of course the cake and ice cream and playing with Grant's new loot. He didn't seem to mind.

Now, on to the "Ghost Store" story: On the way to Sunday School yesterday Jenna was saying she wanted to go to some store. At first I thought she was saying, "I want to go to the grocery store." But, no, she was saying, "I want to go to the Ghost Store." Tim, Jenna and I went to Wal-mart Saturday afternoon for milk, juice and the usual stuff and let her look at the Halloween stuff. She wanted to go back. She is ALL ABOUT holidays! We told her if she was good and went to Sunday School and church and was well behaved we'd take her to Target. She went to class no problem and was pretty good in worship service. She spoke of the Ghost Store in Bible class...Hmmm... After lunch with Amy and Jon took her to the store. She loved it and we ended up and bought one of those little light up ghosts. (She has a couple pumpkins from the previous two years) and wanted a ghost anyway. So, between the little ghost and her jack-o-lantern mylar balloon she thinks she is all set for Halloween. She and the baby still need costumes but Molly has hers already. Jenna is still deciding between a couple of costumes. This is serious stuff! One down and two more to go...

Yesterday at church someone asked me when I was due. I told her and she said, "You look like you could go any minute!" ARGH! All I could think of was this.

And another annoying thing: My tooth STILL HURTS!! I have put a call in the dentist office. They will probably have me do another round of antibiotics.

By the way, I can't believe I only have 30 days left! It's September 17th and she is due October 17th!
