I am 36 weeks pregnant today. One more week until I am considered full term. That means I can go at any time but we all know me and my daughters, we have to make an entrance and be at least a little late when it comes to our debuts into the world! While I went into labor in the VERY EARLY hours of her due date I did not have her until the following day. Baby girl #2 is the size of a tennis racket head. She is nearing 20 inches long and weighs close to six pounds.
She is still very active even though she is running out of room to play. This seems to anger her and I take the brunt of it. Last night in bed, out of nowhere a knee or something stuff straight out the top of my belly. Tim was weirded out and I was a little uncomfortable but it is neat to watch. Alien belly!
At this point the only thing that needs time to mature are the baby's lungs. Every day in my belly gives her lungs time to mature to where she can breathe on her own upon arrival. She is also putting on weight every day and pretty much just filling out now. Her baby fat is up to about 8% now.
Below is an illustration that is the insanity that is my body. It is a little gross and I know Tim will hate it, but I could not believe how all the organs are right up under my chest! It feels like that but I didn't know it would actually LOOK like that. A 36 week old fetus in a body that can hold no more, and yet it has to and it will be capable. It blows my mind!

Below is a picture from the 17th of Jenna and Boo on the back of the love seat. This is one of Molly's many haunts. Molly, the Shih Tzu, thinks she is a cat and acts like one. I was looking for a picture of Molly on the back of the love seat or couch but gave up after a few minutes. I know I have some but time does not permit a search for one. If you've ever been to our house you know where Molly likes to lounge. And lounge she does, like a cat, off and on all day. (I am not sure what the residue is on Jenna's face...probably breakfast from that morning.)

Sorry to hear that you are so tired and uncomfortable. Just a few more weeks!
That organ picture is cool! But I'm a biology geek. :) I was wondering where it would all go. My guts have been retreating upward for a while now . . . I say that I have a "two-belly system" at the moment.
Incidentally, I heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday, and it made it even more real than when I had the ultrasound! Especially since they showed me where to press to feel the top of my uterus, and how big it was now: About the size of a small cantelope, by the estimation of the nurse midwife. I cried. :) I'm feeling all gooshy and maternal now, even more than before. It's almost funny. :)
Oh, your poor squished intestines!
