With my luck today I am clearly taking of the risk of my Mac imploding as I type this.
The day started off great. I hit snooze a few too many times but was not behind on time in getting Jenna to school because both of the girls cooperated with eating and getting dressed. Then I caught Jenna "washing" a pair of her CLEAN panties in her bathroom sink. Crisis averted and I took a shower. Shortly after that we were out the door.
Ashley and I take Jenna in to school and it is then I notice her pants are on backwards. (?!?!) I tell her teacher what I am doing and scurry off to help her. The only reason I knew they were on backwards is because the paw prints that should have been on the front bottom of the pants were in the back. I fixed it and no one else was any the wiser.
Ashley and I ran by the bank (no drive thru teller. Ugh.) and were going to go by the store but she was asleep and I figured we could swing by before we got Jenna. I came home and did laundry having a near miss with some red in hot water with whites. Ashley woke up as soon as we got home. I fed Ashley and by then we could leave fifteen minutes early and hit the store on the way. Pushing it, but doable.
Leaving the neighborhood I zone out for a second and realize I am on the wrong side of the road - just in time as a car was coming. I really don't think they realized I was unaware of this. Luckily there is not much traffic in our area.
We get to the store and I can barely (I don't know why?!) carry Ash in her car seat carrier into the store to get a cart! She weighs all of 12 pounds. I know I am tired but still. The fifteen minutes we had to do our shopping were just GONE and we were frantic. She was even laughing at me while I shopped! We got everything that was on my frantic, crazy-scrawled list and went to check out. Of course, LINES EVERYWHERE! I go to a self check out line (not my fave thing with a kid and several items to buy). I look at my watch...Ten till noon and I have to be there at noon and it is at least a ten minute drive, sometimes fifteen. I finally get up there and begin checking out and the machine is slow. Not only that but two of the things I was buying were the wrong kind so I had to call a lady over and have her void it out there as I did not have the time to just pay for them and deal with it at customer service. I was so grateful to her. I left without the correct items but it was no biggie. Just something I was going to use for pictures.
Ashley and I frantically head to the car and I hoist everything in. More frantic than I realized...more on this later...We get in the car and have five minutes to be at the school to get Jenna. I only miss one of the green lights. It could have been much worse. We got there at 12:05 and it was not a big deal. I am never late and always early so they didn't seem to care too much. Jenna was the last kid there waiting.
On the way home, close to the school someone nearly rear ends us and they slam on the brakes. Close call.
Ashley STILL hasn't fallen asleep and is worn out and cranky. I get home, get the kids out of the car and into the house and then I make several trips out for my purse, school stuff, groceries and the mail. I am just tired. I put Ash in her room in her crib for her long nap. (Long it wasn't today). I start to make Jenna's lunch and put away the groceries knowing my lunch will have to wait. More on the franticness now: My bottle of conditioner exploded in the bag and I pulled it out unaware and it was all over the kitchen counter, me and the bag. EEEE! I put everything away and make my lunch.
I eat and Ash wakes up and has applesauce for the first time. She then decides it is funny to spit a lot of it out (like she is spitting it AT me) and laughs manically. It was funny but it got old and I was tired of it getting in my face. Just my luck I guess.
I had another near miss with the laundry and something red. Jenna peed on the potty and seems to have gotten most of it everywhere but in the potty (?!?!) I now have a migraine and Ash is screaming. Jenna is running around in a shirt and panties. There are markers everywhere. This is just a sampling of my day today. I have had way worse days but I am tired and can't deal today. It is thundering now so I really have to shut the computer down before it blows up. I'm out.
