Some Jenna Randomness

Over the past few weeks I have been keeping a list of funny happenings with Jenna (and Molly too I suppose). Here are a few:

Jenna and Tim found a bird feather in the backyard. We did not like the idea of her playing with it (yuck!) so Tim buried it in the dirt. Jenna was very pleased and said it would be a bird tree - so, of course, she could grow a bird!

March 31, 2007 at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida.
On our way to school we go by some water. I always ask her about "chomp chomps" (what she calls alligators) when we drive by. I ask her things like how many she thinks are in the water, what color they are, etc. One day I decided to ask her how many fish she thought were in the water. She replied in a flat voice,"None, Mom. The chomp chomps ate them all." Smart kid. She absolutely loves alligators.

As I grow bigger I guess I am doing some weird stuff. You know, I have trouble getting up and moving around sometimes. Alright, ALL THE TIME. Jenna has taken to grunting when she has to get up and move too...

April 26, 2007. Jenna has loved "her baby" since the beginning.
On that same note, Jenna has also tried to use her belly as a ledge to hold things like I do. If I eat on the couch I can use my belly as a tray and the such like. She can't figure out why this does not work for her as well. It angers her a great deal. She will also, on occasion, claim she has a baby in her belly too.

July 22, 2007.
As you know, I have been having more frequent migraines at the end of this pregnancy. Molly (AKA "Baa" as Jenna calls her) was barking the other day and Jenna yelled, "Not now, Baa!! I have a headache." Wonder where she heard that...?

And on that same subject, last Thursday, when Jenna could not find her Boo before school we were looking everywhere. I got on the floor to look under her bed and because I can't be on my stomach and it hurts to be on my stomach I was breathing heavily. Jenna said, "Mom, does your head hurt?" Awww.

We were on the way to my parents' house the other night and Tim almost hit someone from behind. Without either of us saying anything Jenna blurted out, "Daddy drives crrraaazy!!"

Jenna is all about Christmas (Christmas Eve 2006 above) and holidays in general. She reads her Easter, Halloween, Valentine and Christmas books all year. We have quite the collection of holiday books, especially for Halloween and Christmas. She has a book with a little Santa finger puppet on it and she calls Santa "Ho Ho." The other night before bed I said, "Here's your Ho Ho book, Jenna." She replied, "That's my "Ho book!" Um, O.K. then.

February 9, 2007 - shortly after we found out we were pregnant again:
Molly had "an accident" in Jenna's room the other day. She peed on the floor. Jenna was HORRIFIED. HORR-I-FIED!! She wailed, "Baa peed in MY DORA ROOM?!?!?!" Like, how could this be?! You get one trained and the other regresses...But Molly is too old to be having accidents. Maybe she is jealous of the big kid room. Jenna did tell her they could share. Molly is not big on sharing.

September 9, 2007.
I actually heard Jenna say, "That's MY sash" like the wicked stepsisters say to Cinderella. It was Molly's bandanna that she likes to wear on game day for the Jaguars, but Jenna took it from her after they lost yesterday!

Another Molly and Jenna story: Molly needed a bath last week. Jenna approached her and announced, "Baa smells like poop!!" Molly had a bath shortly thereafter.

September 9, 2007.
A week ago Saturday Tim had to work and Jenna and I had to do some grocery shopping. We were in the store and I was trying to push the cart and answer my ringing cell phone. I then decided to push the cart with my belly. I smashed poor little Jenna's fingers with her baby sis!

On that same shopping trip a woman we did not know came up to Jenna and started speaking to her like she was a newborn baby! In a sing -song voice this woman asked, "Are you going to have a baby brother or a baby sister?" Jenna looked at her a good minute and just blinked. And blinked. And blinked some more. Then Jenna finally said, "I am having a (insert baby girl #2's name here)." It was too funny. She was shocked, SHOCKED someone would speak to her, the big kid, in such a baby voice. :o)

February 24, 2007 - the night of Jenna's big birthday party:
Jenna, being the avid bird watcher she likes to think she is, was looking at a bird book her Pa (my Dad) gave her the other day. She came across a black bird and said, "Where are his eyes?!" I told her he had eyes but that we could not see them because he was a dark color and so were his eyes. She then said, "BUT! HE HAS! NO! EYES!!!!!"

July 22, 2007.
Overhead the other day: Tim took Jenna to the potty and he thought she said, "Daddy, I have Boo?" That is not what she said. Then she said more clearly, "Daddy, I have boobs" and pointed at her little boobies.

And then just now I gave Jenna the last chocolate chip cookie. I showed her the empty ziploc and threw it away. She just brought me the ziploc with "baby cookies" (AKA crumbs) in it and asked to eat them!! Now she's a dumpster diver??

Check out the other day's post about who is reading my blog and please leave me a hello if you have not done so already. :o) It's neat to find out who reads and how often. Makes me feel like I am not just writing for Tim to read at work. :oP

I hope you enjoyed the Jenna-isms. There will be more to come soon ...especially with a baby on the way.

Loved this! When I was preggers w/ Noah, Ian thought that all of us had babies in our tummies...it was pretty funny :)

What a little character Jenna is! I love how she picks up on all your pregnancy-isms and copies you...soo cute. She will be a great big sister:)

Maybe Molly's regressing because she knows you're about to have another little one and she's nervous about it. I bet dogs can smell when women are pregnant. One of my cats used to love to lay on my belly and purr really loudly when I was pregnant with Rowan.
