19 Weeks: Zucchini Status, 27 months, Water Day

I am starting week 19 in this pregnancy. To date, I have still only gained three pounds and at this point it should be way more. But as long as I don't lose weight we are O.K. I still get nauseated occasionally and I know that is part of why I can't seem to gain more weight. With Jenna at this point I think I had gained about 10 pounds. I just can't eat at times but when I do eat - LOOK OUT! Baby girl #2 weighs in at about 10.5 ounces and is about 6.5 inches crown to rump. I believe next week is when the measurements go from head to toe...This baby is about the size of a small zucchini. Looking at me, you'd think she was larger. You'd also think I have gained more weight...

New symptom: I woke up in the middle of the night last night to a pain that felt like someone was stabbing me in the heart with a knife. Ah, heartburn...Luckily, when I changed sides it wasn't as bad and I was able to fall back asleep but the pain is what woke me up this morning. I hope this is not a recurring theme. I had heartburn off and on with Jenna (and even when I am not pregnant) but this was the worst ever!

Little Miss Jenna Pie is 27 months old as of yesterday and I decided to use this picture because the look on her face is the one I see most often now - always ready to ask questions and challenge us. It's like she's saying, "But..."

I believe she was complaining about something she found outside yesterday. A rock, a bug, whatever, but it always requires attention and STAT!

Jenna and I had fun at the "water day" at her school this morning. We stayed for a couple of hours and snacked while we were there. The pools were so dirty from kids getting in and out of them that Jenna decided it was too dirty for her to get in. Dirty water did NOT concern her last summer when she loved to swim in her little pool with more dirt than water! But now she is very concerned about things being clean and has been for a long time.
She said, "Mom, the pool's dirty. Dirrrty."
So, she decided to play in the "shower." It was a sprinkler but it really was more of a shower and she loves it. When we came home I offered her a bath and she said, "No, Mom, I'm cleeeeean!" Can't argue with that logic and she'd have probably needed another bath at the end of today anyway. She also really liked the water table.

Here she is cracking up at something at the water table - who knows what...
Jenna in the "shower." Funnily enough she did not want to go in the sprinkler until I told her it was like a shower.
Soaking wet Jenna. She said she had a blast!

Well, that's it for now. Next time I see my parents I'll get my Dad to scan the sonogram pictures from Monday morning. Tomorrow Jenna and I are going out with my Mom and then tomorrow night is graduation!
