Day of the Surgery and After...

Here are pictures from the day of Ashley's surgery (Thursday, July 17th).

Here is my super big, brave girl in her hospital gown and waiting. We had to be there at 6:15 AM for a 10AM surgery. Ashley passed the time by reading magazines.
Here are Tim and Ash after getting her vitals, etc. She has a weapon coffee stirrer. She was fine with not eating and fine with waiting and getting blood taken and being poked and prodded. I am so proud of her!
She was at a children's hospital and they take the kids back to surgery in a little boat. I thought they'd carry her because she is so young but she got a boat ride. She was fine with leaving us in the little boat too! They let her take her pacifier, blanket and a little teddy bear our church gave her for the surgery.
These doctors and nurses are awesome and take such good care of the kids. They treated Ash with such love and were so gentle with her. This next picture, while blurry to you, will forever be etched in my mind and Tim's...Ashley leaning over to the side, chilling out and relaxed and being wheeled into surgery in a little boat! Looking at it now and thinking about it I tear up. I did not then though because I knew God would keep her safe and I thought about all the prayers that were said for not only Ashley, but for me, Tim and the doctors and nurses that took such great care of her. One of the nurses said something about her "little attitude" when they wheeled her back in the boat. I assure you, it is not little!
Me and Ash after the surgery. She was very pale when she was given back to me. Poor baby! She was dry heaving and nauseated. But she pulled through like the big kid she is! I DID notice that she was returned to me in a different hospital gown. Hmmmm...
The night after we went to my mom and dad's house. Ashley had a grand time playing with the Fisher Price Little People.Ashley also wanted to catch up on her programs...Here she is going toward Pa's new TV!Jenna made and hid in her first fort made out of boxes! See her peeking out? She didn't want her picture taken but this made it all the more cute. Photo credit to Tim.
Ash kept a close eye on Jenna while at Nana and Pa's house...
And tried to get her eat on...Sorry, Sassy!
Sunday after worship at lunch:
Happy with her daddy.
I am taking her back to the doctor tomorrow as the incision is looking worse, not better. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I will keep you all posted. Thank you all for caring about little Bebe.
