Jenna: 34 Months

Dearest Jenna,
You are getting to be such a big girl. You are two months away from being three years old. It seems weird to have had you in my life for such a long time but in a way, it seems like such a short time too. I feel like you have always been a part of me and I guess in a way you have. And you always will be. I know you backwards and forwards and I know a lot of times what you are going to say before you say it. I also know what you are going to do before you do it. It is amazing how big you got the second your baby sister Ashley was born. You all of a sudden became a Big Girl. It made me and Daddy happy and sad at the same time. But we are so very proud of you.
You took to being a big sister like a duck takes to water. If Ashley cries you yell, "I'll get her" and try to appease her before I get to her. If you cannot calm her down you have been known to say, "Mom! Can you get her?!?!" You bring me clean diapers and throw away the dirty ones. You love to get baby clean bibs. The other day we were going to Nana and Pa's house and you said, "Will bebe be eating there?" It did not occur to me why you asked until we got there and Ash wanted to eat. You pulled a clean bib right out of your activity bag (that you packed yourself) and I also saw a few diapers in there too. You are such a little momma, so I guess the nickname Daddy gave you even before we had Ash really describes you - Little Momma.

You are a gorgeous child. Every time we go out we are stopped and people ooh and aah about what a pretty girl you are. I have even heard that you are "the prettiest girl in the whole world" and that was NOT from a family member. You are so polite and always say thank you. You are so friendly and smile and wave at people like you are in a parade every time we go out.
You are so smart and oh so funny. You are full of questions and want real, logical answers. Not the answers many people can pass off on their kids. You are as sharp as a tack and nothing gets past you. Not even us spelling things so you won't know what we are talking about. You catch right on and you will NOT be underestimated just because you are a kid.

A few weeks ago, you were on many of your nature/birdwatching walks with your Pa and you saw some storks. He told you storks bring babies. There were cormorants there too. Upon hearing this you said, "What do the brown birds bring?"
The other day a friend of the family's came over. You waited until he left and you asked me, "Where did _____'s hair go?" (He is follically challenged and he knows who he is.) I told her it was nice she asked in private but after she saw how funny it was she asked him herself the other day. He pointed to a man with a beard and said it went on his face. This answer pleased you yet you still get an evil glint in your eyes and ask where his hair went...

I love you so much and look forward to all our times together and a time when I can tell you some of the crazy stories about you.

Love, Mommy

I do hope you're printing these blogs out for her, so one day she'll enjoy them even more than we have. You too, Kellygirl, are beautiful~both inside and out.
