28 Weeks: Loaf of Bread Status!

I am 28 weeks pregnant today and beginning the third and final trimester of this pregnancy. I have 84 days to go! The baby is about the size of a large loaf of bread. She is about 16 inches long and weighs about two and a half pounds. Her little eyes are no longer fused shut and she can see light and even turn in the direction of it. She even has little eyelashes now. Her lungs are now capable of breathing air. She's been able to hear us talk for a while now and still loves it when her big sister talks and sings to her.

I have been having Braxton-Hicks Contractions which are completely normal for this stage in pregnancy. My tummy gets rock hard and it is sometimes hurts even though everything you read on pregnancy says they do not hurt. They do sometimes. They did with Jenna too. Other than that I have been having more sciatic nerve pain (or sciatica) and round ligament pain. I have had both of these off and on during this pregnancy and Jenna's and from what I understand it is normal. Just annoying, but totally worth it in the end.

Below is a model of a seven month fetus:

I will be full term in nine weeks (when I am 37 weeks) and that's when they say it can happen anytime. Although, Jenna waited until her due date to put me into labor and she arrived about an hour and a half past her due date. I lured her out by telling her if she hurried up and was born she could get clothes for her birthdays from the President's Day Sales. It worked! Two and a half hours of pushing and THAT did it. :o) That's my girl!

Below is a human fetus at 28 weeks gestation:
I never did hear back about the glucose screening test so that means I am in the clear! Yay! I am just so tired lately. The heat makes me drag anyway and now that I am carrying what appears to be a watermelon in my belly, well, it's not so fun sometimes...

It's gotten to the point that I am always hot and Tim comes home from work and puts on sweatshirts. And he's still cold...It reminds me of Father of the Bride Part II, when Steve Martin's character runs around with a sneezing and sniffling with a cold, dressed in his winter clothing, and the pregnant gals are in tank tops and shorts and still hot. I tried to find a picture of it from the movie online but did not have any luck (or the time to keep looking). I can relate and living in the South does not help any! :o)

I don't know you, but found your blog through a link on Crystal Harr's blog. I have been "lurking" your blog for sometime now and thought I would leave a comment today! I am actually due the exact same day you are!!

I had much worse Braxton-Hicks with Noah than I did with Ian...I was constantly thinking I was going to be heading to the hospital...never worked out, though :)
