I sometimes forget how literal kids can be. I've been doing this for over four years and still, on a daily basis, I am stunned by my kids. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not so good but they always keep me on my toes. Take today, for instance: It was snack time and Ashley wanted me to help her with her cup. She does it herself but sometimes wants help getting it tiled and started so she can drink on her own. (And believe me, she is not too big to have someone baby her. She thinks of it as being served.) She had a graham cracker hanging out of her mouth like a stogie. I laughed at her (an every five minute occurrence here) and told her she couldn't have food in her mouth like that and drink her milk. She nodded and reached in her mouth and removed the wet, gummy cracker and placed it on the kitchen floor, BLUH, and then looked up at me like, "Now I'm ready!"
My dad is still in the hospital now and has been all day waiting to be released. The doctors are not concerned and as of now he is waiting on a wheelchair to be released. (After having both my girls I know this can take alllll day.) Thanks for the well wishes!
