I took Ashley back to the doctor today. She is not herself. Fussy, has to be held all the time. Then the thing that really scared us - she was barely eating. I mean like one ounce per six hours not eating. And feeding her that one ounce took forever. She is over her bronchitis and upper respiratory infection. Now we have a new, different problem. She has
reflux (here's another
link at Mayo Clinic) and while she was not spitting up a lot the past few days, she was last week. She went from never spitting up to spitting up a lot to spitting up some now. I did not even consider this diagnosis because she normally did NOT spit up and we thought she was because of her cold and infections. Her tummy was very tender when the doctor examined her. Poor little baby! She will be on Zantac for now and she goes for her well baby check up next Monday and we will go from there. I believe she will have some tests run later on but not sure what they will be and when. She HATES the taste of the Zantac - oh joy! Acid reflux hurts. I have it occasionally and when I was pregnant (especially with Ashley).
For now, this is how Ashley rolls, sideways in her bouncy seat:

This is what I was
talking about with Jenna and the ornaments falling off of the tree. She did not understand why and was having trouble getting the hooks to cooperate with her. Look at all the fallen pine needles and hooks on the floor!

Now its going to let me post under my name.I forgot to mention that our Dr. had us mixing cereal in with Braidi's bottles, because he had the reflux so bad and that was the only way of keeping it down him.Braidi didn't like the medicine he would spit it out so I mixed it in with a little bit of formula and it made it easier to get down him...
Poor baby Ash. If she has a really hard time with the taste you can ask your pharmacy to flavor it for you. :)
I'm so sorry to hear that Ash has reflux. Not only is is painful for baby, it's hard on mommy and daddy too. Thank goodness they have medicine for it, whether or not she likes it. Hope she grows out of it very soon. Love the tree.
Oh - reflux.. I know there are a lot of little things you can do to ease that - I'm so sorry. I bet her tummy does hurt. :(
I love Jenna's Rudolph shirt!!
Poor baby! Hope she feels better - and could your little girl be any cuter? :)
Hey Girl ~ Your tree is beautiful! Noah had terrible reflux. The best thing we did was take hime to a pediatric GI doctor. We love our pediatrician, but this was one area where it became clear he didn't really know the best way to treat Noah. He kept adding and changing meds. By the time we saw the GI doc, Noah was on 3 meds. The GI took him off of 2 and upped the dose of one. She was WONDERFUL and helped SO much. So, if Ashley doesn't get better, I would strongly urge you to consider that. ~ Jenny
Our Matthew had reflux as an infant and underwent an upper GI when he was three months old. He was on Prevacid in the powder form, which was nice to mix into his bottle, applesauce, or yogurt. He had to sleep on his stomach due to spitting up at night - it would wake him up. We also elevated his crib, which helped, too. He grew out of it and is no longer on the medicine, thank goodness! I hope she grows out of it!
